“PRODUCERS PACT FOR INDIE HORROR, DARKWORLD”
SURPRISE, ARIZONA – Veteran distribution executive Ted Chalmers has teamed up with producer Dave Sterling to produce the action-horror feature DARKWORLD. Principle photography was completed last month in Los Angeles.
DARKWORLD tells the story of FALLON, a young woman who is killed in the act of a crime and goes to Hell. Under the watchful eye of an unknown evil, she returns to Earth as a supernatural bounty hunter for wayward souls who have made deals with the Devil. When she is ordered to take the soul of her own beloved sister, she rebels. All Hell breaks loose as her former boss unleashes a team of demons to kill them both.
The feature film stars Gina Valona (WITCHES SABBATH), Chrissy May (VEGAS), and newcomer Mara Marini. The film is directed by David Palmieri who is a cinematographer and crew member whose credits include CSI, HELLRAISER: INFERNO and Rob Zombie’s THE DEVILS REJECTS. Palmieri also serves as cinematographer on DARKWORLD. “Dave is a great talent who is dedicated to making DARKWORLD stand out. We are lucky to have him on this project," says producer Dave Sterling. Previously, Palmieri has directed the slasher-thriller KILL, for Sterling.
Chalmers is a veteran foreign sales agent who has repped such classic horror titles as THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, HELLRAISER, EVIL DEAD 2 and CHILDREN OF THE CORN. As a producer, his credits include the Lion's Gate cult favorite FAUST: LOVE OF THE DAMNED, and the The Sci-Fi Channel movies ALIEN APOCALYPSE and MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN, both starring horror icon Bruce Campbell. Chalmers is currently Head of Worldwide Distribution for indie film and TV company Creative Light Entertainment.
"As a writer, being asked to contribute to a project of this scope was an absolute gift. I've never before been asked to summon such a bizarre blend of characters," says scribe Adam Hackbarth, whose previous film STUDIO 666 was distributed by Chalmers at Creative Light and was also produced by Sterling.
David Sterling is a prolific feature film producer who has made over 40 movies since 1993. His latest feature ALIEN 3000 is being released by Lions Gate Entertainment this year. Chalmers and Sterling intend to make more horror films over the next 12 months, including sequels and spin-offs to DARKWORLD. “We have created a whole universe of interesting characters here from which other exciting movie concepts can be derived,” says Chalmers, “These horror films will appeal to a broad audience on a worldwide basis."
Funds for the project were 100% secured using a Limited Partnership Investment Memorandum created by Movie Plan Software. For more information, please visit http://www.movieplan.net.
